About

My name is Shelby Eroen, and I’m a filmmaker based in Los Angeles. I’ve always been interested in stories and ways to tell them. I earned my bachelor’s degree in English from Skidmore College. I spent the spring semester of my junior year in Prague, where I co-wrote, co-directed, and co-edited a short film titled “Eliška and the Pink Dress,” which won the Best Film + Video Undergrad Short Film award at American University.

In addition, I created “The Zoom Call,” a short film that earned two award nominations. “The Zoom Call” was the start to my exploration of the horror genre. I enjoy making psychological films that make the audience think, and can dig deeper into the human mind. Currently, I am in the writing process of a new horror short film based in Los Angeles that I plan to direct, continuing my journey of deep characters and meaningful stories, while also exploring the magical city I was born in: Los Angeles.

More recently, I directed a documentary in Morocco about the SFT Animal Sanctuary, capturing the heart of this local organization’s mission.
